Era-Pack s.r.o. has received funding under the VIDA project, which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement nº 777795.
VIDA Innovation Support Voucher
Feasibility study for implementing nanofibrous sensors into packages to increase resource efficiency in the food sector
The joint action is formed by Era-Pack s.r.o., a packaging SME company which is looking for expanding its portfolio for food packaging solutions, and Nanopharma, a SME in the field of nanotechnology. Era-Pack s.r.o. would like to provide higher added-value solution to its customers by adding nanofibrous sensors to the offer thus open new potential markets. It would help Era-Pack s.r.o. to secure their position in the market, and to grow in a more innovative direction. The main objective of this feasibility study is to develop functionalized nanofibers which can be used as sensor for food packaging for freshness indicators like the release of gases (amines or ethylene) from metabolism of microorganisms.
VIDA Validation Voucher
Validation of lamination the nanofibrous layer to the wrapping films used in the food industry
The joint action is formed by Era-Pack s.r.o., a packaging SME company which is looking for expanding its portfolio for food packaging solutions, and Nanopharma, a SME in the field of nanotechnology. The aim of the validation project is the lamination of a defect-free three-layer food packaging material (packaging foil - non-woven fabric - nanofibrous layer) with perfect adhesion between individual layers. There is a great potential for this technology to develop functionalized food packaging materials for high added-value products which require special conditions.
